Lynn M. Fisher

Lynn Fisher is Vice President and Deputy Chief Economist at Fannie Mae, where she leads research, analysis, and data analytics related to the trends and conditions in the housing and mortgage markets. Dr. Fisher also oversees strategic research on potential impacts of external factors on the housing industry.
Before joining Fannie Mae in 2025, Dr. Fisher held multiple roles leading housing research at organizations including Vice President of Housing Economics at Essent Guaranty, Deputy Director of the Division of Research and Statistics at FHFA, and Resident Scholar and Co-director of the Center on Housing Markets and Finance at AEI, at the Mortgage Bankers Association. She has also served on the faculties of Washington State University, MIT, and the University of North Carolina, and directed the Housing Affordability Initiative at MIT’s Center for Real Estate.
Dr. Fisher’s work has been published in leading academic journals, and she holds a Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in real estate finance, a M.S. in business administration, and a B.A. in international politics, all from Pennsylvania State University.
